Accreditation
Chicago College of Oriental Medicine and its following programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM):
- Master of Acupuncture
- Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal Medicine specialization
The programs listed above may offer courses via distance education. ACAHM does not accredit any programs at the undergraduate/bachelor level.

ACAHM is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the specialized accreditation agency for institutions and programs preparing acupuncture practitioners.

State Authorization
The Chicago College of Oriental Medicine has been granted authorization by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) to grant the Master of Science in Acupuncture and the Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

SEVIS Approval
CCOM is approved by the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), authorizing the college to enroll non-immigrant students on F-1 student visas. Dedicated DSO support is available for I-20 issuance, transfers, change of status, and academic compliance.

Professional Licensure
Graduates are eligible to sit for examinations administered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). NCCAOM certification is the standard credential required for state licensure in most U.S. jurisdictions. Acupuncture is currently licensed in 47 states.
